The Prime Minister has made the following statement in Downing Street:

‘I have just chaired a meeting of the Government’s emergency committee Cobr, where we discussed the details of – and the response to – the appalling events in Manchester last night.

Welfare Cash Card to stub out misuse of benefits

Alec Shelbrooke MP today introduced a Ten Minute Rule Motion to the House of Commons, calling for the introduction of a Welfare Cash Card to prohibit the purchases of cigarettes and alcohol by benefit claimants.
